Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, April 5, 2011

Acceptance of Minutes

The minutes of the March 1 meeting are delayed in submission and will be reviewed at the May meeting.

Public Access

Lynn reported that he contacted Paula Dowdle’s Office to determine the status of installation of interior signage in the Hospital. He said that the Hospital is in process of reorganizing departments and that signage will follow. Lynn reminded Paula’s Office that signage should meet ADA guidelines and that DASH is more than willing to consult as installation draws close.

Marion reported that Kirby Hollingsworth told her that the Sheridan Street Streetscape project is fully in the hands of the City and that construction should begin in early 2012. No date for a public charette has been scheduled but it is anticipated later this year.

Treasury/Fundraising

Bonnie reported that the current fund balance in our regular account is $1,655.04 and the DASH Emergency Account is $159.74.

Lynn reported that this year DASH missed the re-certification deadline for UGN because we didn’t receive the usual notification email and the follow-up phone message from UGN was checked too late. Bonnie will setup an internal reminder system so that we can anticipate next year’s certification process.

Other Business

Restaurant evaluations continue for the revision of our Accessible Restaurant Brochure. We hope to have the Brochure ready for printing by May.

Outside Committee

Work Kaheya said that a large number of the residents at The Vintage in Sequim participated in a public stand to improve pedestrian access across a busy road so that they could take advantage of shopping in safety. Their efforts extended all the way up to the City Council and apparently has resulted in a new curb cut, painted crosswalk and the donation of reflective vests for the residents from Wallmart.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:55 pm.
