Board of Directors Annual Meeting Minutes

Present: Pat Teal, Julie Duke, Marion Huxtable, Bonnie Bolster, Lynn Gressley Special Guest: Kirby Hollingsworth, Walkable and Livable Communities Institute

Acceptance of Minutes

The minutes of the July meeting were approved.

Public Access

Kirby joined us to report on her consultation with the City regarding submission of a grant proposal to the Transportation Improvement Board for sidewalk construction and pedestrian access improvements along Sheridan Street adjacent to the Hospital. The Hospital has agreed to provide $10,000 if the grant is awarded. Kirby said that the awards will be announced in November.

After a thorough discussion of the types of pedestrian and street scape improvements the grant would provide, the Board decided to take this opportunity to request a meeting with the new Hospital CEO, Mike Glenn in order to introduce ourselves and offer our assistance with any exterior or interior modifications which may be made to the Hospital.

A decision about filing a 504 complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services will be withheld until it is deemed necessary.

Treasury/Fundraising

Bonnie reported that the current fund balance is $1636.19.

Outside Committee Work

Pat reported that the Non-Motorized Transportation Board is seeking new members and she expressed her hope that at least one person with a disability would consider applying.
