Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

Acceptance of Minutes

The minutes of the October meeting were approved unanimously.

Public Access

Marion reported that she has sent correct information about the State’s Discover Pass and Disability Pass to our State Representatives, since earlier it came to our attention that one of them had published an incorrect description of the State’s new policies.

We discussed the logistics around development of our Accessible cultural and entertainment venues brochure. Marion will develop a comprehensive list of places to be included and then we will begin the process of evaluating those with which we are unfamiliar. Ian volunteered that he is available if a wheelchair is needed for evaluation of facilities.

Lynn reported that the DASH website has been updated to reflect the correct State Parks information for people with disabilities and that press releases have been submitted for the Parks info and to announce our updated Restaurant Brochure.

Lynn also said that he had sent a letter to Paula Dowdle, of Jefferson Health Care, about the lack of disabled parking designation in the Specialty Clinic parking lot and the prospect of a new fence being built which would impair the pedestrian ramp to the old entrance on Sheridan.

Treasury/Fundraising

Bonnie reported that the Emergency Account has a balance of $118.40 and the main account has $795.41.

We are gathering names for a fundraising letter campaign within the next couple of months. Lynn also noted that he is nearly completed a grant application to the Norcliffe Foundation.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:50 p.m.
