Approval of Minutes

The minutes of the November meeting were approved

Public Access

Hospital

The Board is pleased to announce that the State Transportation Improvement Board with a match from the City of Port Townsend has awarded a grant for the creation of a Streetscape including sidewalks and pedestrian amenities to be constructed on both sides of Sheridan Ave. between Sims Way and 10th Street.

Lynn will contact the Hospital to invite Mike Glenn or his representative to join us at an up-coming Board meeting to discuss how the Hospital can improve its campus access in conjunction with the City’s new Sheridan sidewalk. Marion will develop a list of DASH recommendations to jump start the conversation. Marion will also invite Kirby Hollingsworth to participate in this meeting.

Restaurant Brochure

Beginning January 10 and for each Monday as needed, we will evaluate restaurants which are new or have changed hands since the last Brochure. Marion will double check restaurants which are currently in the Brochure. We hope to have the revised Brochure ready for the printer by early March.

Bikes and Skateboards

Pat reported that Lys Burden is a new member of the Non-Motorized Transportation Board and is a strong advocate for pedestrian safety. She is aware of the bicycle and skateboard issue on crowded sidewalks and we will see if she and Pat can make any headway with City staff and the Board about the signage and enforcement issues at the January meeting.

Treasury/Fundraising

Bonnie reported that the current fund balance is $1511.26.

The Board agreed to donate $100 to the Emergency Account which is used by the community group which provides emergency preparation classes for County residents with disabilities.

The Board also voted to provide $300 to Jill Beaumont for continuing website maintenance.

At the next meeting the Board will discuss the need for fundraising and the options available to us.

Outside Committee Work

Pat reported that the Jefferson Housing Authority Board has officially merged with the Clallam County Board.

She said that she has been recommended to remain on the newly constituted Board.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:55 p.m.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, January 4.
